What is RAVENNA?

RAVENNA is an open technology for real time distribution of audio and other media content . Utilising standardised network protocols and technologies, RAVENNA can integrate and operate on existing network infrastructures. Performance and capacity are scalable with the capabilities of the underlying network architecture. RAVENNA is designed to meet the strict requirements of the pro audio market featuring low latency, full signal transparency and high reliability. Fields of application include (but are not limited to): in-house signal distribution for Broadcasting Houses and other fixed installations, flexible setups at venues and Live events, OB van support, inter-studio links across WAN links and production facilities.

RAVENNA is already fully compatible with AES67!

What makes RAVENNA more interesting is that since its fundamental operational principles, protocols and formats are all in line with what has been defined as AES67, RAVENNA is already fully compatible and largely exceeds AES67’s recommendations at every level.
